Description of the program

Objectives

The Fonds de soutien à l’innovation en santé et en services sociaux (FSISSS) is intended to provide financial support for projects that test the validity and usefulness of innovations in a real health care and service environment (TRL 7-9), . The FSISSS, set up as part of the Quebec Life Sciences Strategy of the Ministère de l’économie et de l’Innovation (MEI) and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), aims to support the Bureau de l’Innovation mandate to integrate innovation.

The 5th Call is open to both Stream 1 and 2.

Under stream 2, an institution may submit a maximum of 2 projects and must involve at least 2 different centres per project. The projects submitted must therefore be in line with the institution’s priorities.

Update:

Following numerous requests from project teams in the process of setting up, an extension of more than 6 weeks will be granted for the submission of projects for the 5th FSISSS Call. The new submission date is therefore Monday, November 15 for both components. Consequently, the pre-filing date for project review (Stream 1 only), is moved to Monday, October 25, 2021.

Eligibility of project leaders

The FSISSS aims to encourage collaborative, interdisciplinary teams that include :

  • An industrial partner (stream 1 only): a Quebec-based for-profit health technology company with fewer than 250 employees.
