Program description

The partnership between MEDTEQ and TransMedTech aims to support the research, development, validation and implementation of medical technologies/products within the health-provider system and/or biomedical industry.

Terms and conditions

The projects co-funded by MEDTEQ and TransMedTech must be submitted by professors and researchers who are employed by of TransMedTech’s founding members (CHU Sainte-Justine, University of Montreal, CHUM, Montreal Jewish General Hospital).

The projects must align with one of the technological axes and medical sectors prioritized by the TransMedTech Institute

The co-financing is planned as such:

  • MEDTEQ contributes under the terms of the RSRI program up to 40% of the eligible budget
  • The TransMedTech Institute contributes up to 20% of the eligible budget plus an in-kind contribution consisting in various supports (legal, regulatory, project management, commercial strategy, market research, marketing, etc.)

TransMedTech is supported by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund, the Québec Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation and Fonds de recherche du Québec, as well as several other government, philanthropic, socio-economic and industry partners.
