This thematic call is part of MEDTEQ+&#8217;s IMPACT program.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Innovation in space medicine becomes a priority for the success of interplanetary manned missions, such as those to Mars<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The numerous challenges faced by astronauts in extreme space conditions, due to remote distances and limited medical accessibility, can lead to innovations that are also applicable to rural and remote areas on our planet, where medical resources are not easily accessible. These challenges are even more important when access to medical resources is restricted. For example, as space travel extends beyond low-Earth orbit to the Moon and Mars, <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">crew health <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">issues become increasingly complex.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">A total of $1.8 million has been allocated to MEDTEQ+ for this initiative<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This thematic call is part of MEDTEQ+&#8217;s IMPACT program. This call for projects is carried out with the financial support of the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) through the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Grants and Contributions Global Program <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">(S and C Program) to support research, awareness and education in space sciences and technologies \u2013 Research. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Objectives and eligible organizations for the Orbit Health call for projects<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">MEDTEQ+s IMPACT program aims at supporting the structuring and the financing of research projects, as well as the development and validation of healthcare technologies, involving at least one company. The Orbit Health call for projects aims at supporting the development of healthcare technologies specifically designed for space and\/or in remote areas in Canada, to enhance the self-reliance of healthcare practitioners operating in these environments.
