Improved tibial instrumentation during knee replacement surgery

Summary

The iASSIST® Knee System is a computer-aided assistance system designed for total knee replacement surgery. This system consists of reusable instruments, a controller as well as inertial sensors (PODs) to determine the axes of alignment of the femur and tibia relative to the anatomical landmarks. The objective of the tool is to help precisely position the alignment instruments and implant components relative to these bony axes. The goal of this project is to finalize the development of iASSIST2 by designing a syste guiding the installation of the tibial prosthesis during total knee replacement surgery. This last feature is currently an obstacle for the adoption of the full product.
