Project Summary

The non-profit organization Super Sublime offers to support the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Seniors’ Center in adopting immersive leisure activities. The organization will train home leisure workers in the use of virtual reality. This technology will now be part of the common work tools at the Seniors' Center. Through this contribution, residents will be able to visit places that are usually inaccessible to them due to mobility constraints. They will be able to stroll in nature, relax on the beach, or explore mountain trails, thanks to the virtual reality application Ouvert Dimanche (an application adapted to accommodation environments). Their loved ones will also be able to join them, even remotely, thanks to the application's multi-user mode. The adoption of virtual reality therefore represents an increased means of stimulation, relaxation and intergenerational activities. In addition, with the SLSJ Seniors' House, Super Sublime will create technology that will allow staff to easily capture personalized content in virtual reality. For example: The house where Mrs. Lalancette grew up… or The place where Mr. and Mrs. Gadoury met. This major addition will place emphasis on the life history of residents, promoting their experience by allowing everyone to bear witness to it. An inspiring project, bursting with dignity for our residents. And the best? All of this will then be available to all hosting centers that wish it.
