The 2026 edition of the MEDTEQ+ Health Innovation Summit brought together over 530 participants from across Canada and internationally, representing the health technology ecosystem.

Delivered over two complementary days, the programming for this 10th edition focused on key structural challenges shaping the sector.

The first day highlighted Canada’s positioning in a rapidly evolving
medtech landscape, addressing global competitiveness, international collaboration, artificial intelligence in healthcare, and the emergence of innovative, field-driven solutions.

The second day focused on the conditions required to scale health
technologies, exploring value-based funding approaches, care delivery models, equitable access to innovation, and the transformation of care pathways from hospital to home.

Featuring more than 72 high-level speakers, the program combined keynotes, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Highlights included the opening keynote by Isabelle Hudon and Nicole DeKort, which addressed macroeconomic challenges and Canada’s global competitiveness, as well as a keynote by Frank Baylis, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and vision for the sector’s growth. The event concluded with a keynote by Paul Grand, CEO of MedTech Innovator, offering a compelling perspective on the growth challenges faced by medtech startups.

The silent conference format allowed participants to either follow the sessions through individual headsets or take advantage of networking opportunities, particularly within the exhibition area, without disrupting ongoing presentations.

The exhibition space, featuring over 38 exhibitors, showcased innovative solutions and fostered connections between companies, clinical stakeholders, and institutional partners.

With over 150 organizations represented and a satisfaction rate of 4.1 out of 5, the Summit continues to serve as a catalyst for connecting stakeholders and accelerating innovation.Interested in collaborating? Under the theme The Universe of Healthcare Possibilities, more than 530 participants from Quebec, Canada, and abroad from the wider life sciences ecosystem attended this rich program. In the space of a single day, we shared rich exchanges on the opportunities and possibilities for innovation in healthcare.

Edition after edition, the MEDTEQ+ Innovation Summit has become a must-attend event for all those involved in the healthcare technology sector. Once again, the 83% satisfaction rate testifies to the uniqueness of our event and encourages us to continue our efforts to improve the programming and content of the sessions, while allocating time and physical space to maximize the exchanges that are the spark for collaboration between sectors.

More than 43 internationally renowned speakers from industry, academia and clinical practice participated in the 9th edition of the MEDTEQ+ Innovation Summit.

For its 8th edition, the MEDTEQ+ Innovation Summit established itself as an innovative and unifying Canadian and Quebec event, with over 700 participants between January 13 and January 16, 2020. This year’s theme, “Disrupting Healthcare”, stretched boundaries by exploring health applications in space.

With an increase of +57% of SMEs and +70% of large companies compared to last year, the industry mobilization of the network was strengthened. The second pan‑Canadian edition reached a total of 7 provinces.

Networking took a vital position in the event’s program, representing 1/3 of the total time of the conference. Participants were able to take advantage of these networking moments and venture through a larger exhibitor area, with thematic zones such as the Beachhead™ zone, the Canadian pavilions and the Members’ Minutes zone.+

MEDTEQ+ brought together all the key players in the medtech industry to discuss a major topic: enabling a better quality of life for patients and citizens. From the Hospital of the Future to the involvement of cities and citizens, including the integration of technologies, a 360° vision was presented during this event.

The MEDTEQ+ Generation Competition brought together 10 students from 7 Canadian universities. The finalists – Brayden Whitlock, Laura Gagliano, Sultan Khetani and Samuel Little – were selected by the conference participants via the mobile application. The prize was awarded by MITACS, the competition partner, during the cocktail reception.

With more than 400 medtech players – health network, industrials, researchers, students – the MEDTEQ+ Innovation Summit is becoming a major industry event in Canada.

Exchanges and collaborations are at the heart of the consortium’s values. For these reasons, MEDTEQ+ used for the first time a mobile application throughout the event: access to the list of participants, appointments making, live questions with the speakers, etc. A great success!+
