Swiftsure Innovations was founded by a critical care nurse, Deanne McCarthy, RN. As a nurse practitioner, she became frustrated by the lack of tools for fast, safe and clinically effective oral care. She decided to found her own company, Swiftsure Innovations, to bring the SwishKit to market.

The SwishKit is the only device that enables safe rinsing and suctioning in the oral cavity of mechanically ventilated patients.

RNA Diagnostics has developed the RNA Disruption Assay (RDA) to assess the response of cancer patients to chemotherapy and other anti-cancer treatments. The RDA can assess response within 2-3 weeks of starting treatment, compared with the current standard of 4-6 months. rRNA disruption is a biomarker of impending cell death. If anticancer drugs are effective, rRNA will be strongly disrupted. If anticancer drugs are not effective, rRNA will be intact.
