Project Summary

VigIxia is a decision support system for clinicians working to support the autonomy of older people (SAPA). A network of sensors is deployed at the elderly person's home. Sensor data is analyzed to extract statistics on several activities of daily living such as sleeping, cooking or leaving the house. A secure web portal allows clinicians to follow the weekly routine of an elderly person losing their autonomy and to build an adapted intervention plan. The main objective of this project is to evaluate how VigIxia can support health system professionals. To do this, VigIxia will be deployed in 15 homes of fragile elderly people for a period of 6 months. Clinicians will use the information produced by VigIxia to better understand the daily lives of their clients in order to better personalize the health service offering. An evaluation of VigIxia, its deployment, its use and its integration into CCSMT practice will be carried out. It is estimated that VigIxia will make it possible to optimize clinicians' decision-making regarding the home services to be offered and home support. Thus VigIxia should generate benefits for the health of users, the quality and effectiveness of clinical evaluations, access to the service for a vulnerable population and resource consumption.
