Description of the program

Objectives

The Fonds de soutien à l’innovation en santé et en services sociaux (FSISSS) is intended to provide financial support for projects that test the validity and usefulness of innovations in a real health care and service environment (TRL 7-9), . The FSISSS, set up as part of the Quebec Life Sciences Strategy of the Ministère de l’économie et de l’Innovation (MEI) and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), aims to support the Bureau de l’Innovation mandate to integrate innovation.

The 5th Call is open to both Stream 1 and 2.

Under stream 2, an institution may submit a maximum of 2 projects and must involve at least 2 different centres per project. The projects submitted must therefore be in line with the institution’s priorities.

Eligibility of project leaders

The FSISSS aims to encourage collaborative, interdisciplinary teams that include :

  • An industrial partner (stream 1 only): a Quebec-based for-profit health technology company with fewer than 250 employees.
  • A stakeholder environment: one of the 34 institutions in Quebec’s public health and social services network – list available here. If you don’t already have a stakeholder in your team, MEDTEQ+ will help you identify one.
  • An evaluation team: is made up of companies or experts in evaluation, reimbursement and integration of innovations in health and health economics.
  • Firms or organizations with the necessary expertise and interested in being included in a list of suggested organizations should let MEDTEQ+ know by writing to fsisss@medteq.ca.
  • An IT specialist (mandatory for projects aiming at the introduction of an information technology) : a specialist in information technology in the health and social services network.
  • Other partners: can be of various types, e.g. patient partners, patient or professional associations, support groups, etc.
