Description of the program

Objectives

The Fonds de soutien à l’innovation en santé et en services sociaux (FSISSS) is intended to provide financial support for projects that test the validity and usefulness of innovations in a real health care and service environment (TRL 7-9), . The FSISSS, set up as part of the Quebec Life Sciences Strategy of the Ministère de l’économie et de l’Innovation (MEI) and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS), aims to support the Bureau de l’Innovation mandate to integrate innovation.

Note that this call differs from previous ones. Indeed, the projects submitted must be the result of a partnership between Quebec SMEs and institutions in the health and social services network.

Update as of January 7, 2021: following the receipt of applications filed under the 4th FSISSS Call on December 18, the government and its partners have decided to show flexibility and offer Quebec companies a new opportunity to submit additional projects in the current fiscal year.

Thus, a second submission has been added under the 4th FSISSSS Call. It should be noted that there are no specific themes in this 2nd submission.

Eligibility of project leaders

The FSISSS aims to encourage collaborative, interdisciplinary teams that include :

  • An industrial partner: a Quebec-based for-profit health technology company with fewer than 250 employees.

  • An IT specialist: a specialist in information technology in the health and social services network.
