MEDTEQ and Sheba Medical Center join forces to foster the growth of the medical technologies’ ecosystem.

Montreal, October 22, 2018 – The Consortium for Industrial Research and Innovation in Medical Technologies, MEDTEQ (Canada), and Sheba Medical Center (Israel) are proud to announce the signature of an agreement aiming to foster the growth of the medical technologies’ ecosystem on a global scale. This agreement aims to facilitate collaboration opportunities, knowledge transfer and support of startups.

Collaborative engagement towards healthcare of the future

MEDTEQ and Sheba Medical Center, together with its Innovation Centre, are partnering in order to grow their ecosystems. They will look to identify opportunities for collaboration between companies and institutions, facilitating access to complementary resources including events, networks and innovation support services, with special focus on SMEs. They will also work to support joint projects and challenges.

As a Centre of Excellence for Commercialisation and Research, MEDTEQ, through its 150 members – SMEs and large healthcare technology companies, universities, teaching hospitals and support organizations – has a pan-Canadian reach. Collaborations with members and partners across the country aim to support world class innovations in the medtech sector.

“MEDTEQ is delighted to be partnering with Sheba. We share the same vision of Innovation for health and the same commitment to supporting the development of our ecosystems. We look forward to launching the first activities of our action plan!” – Diane Côté, Chief Executive Officer, MEDTEQ

MEDTEQ’s mission is, through collaborative industry led projects, to accelerate innovation and position, on a global scale, products and services developed by the Canadian medical technologies industry, thereby generating major economic impacts while improving healthcare systems for the ultimate benefit of patients in Canada and around the world.
