April 13th, 2026

MONTREAL, April 10, 2026 /CNW/ – Jean Boulet, ministre de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie, ministre du Travail, ministre responsable de la Stratégie maritime et ministre responsable de la région de la Mauricie, announces financial support for MEDTEQ+, the industrial consortium for research and innovation in health technologies, to continue coordinating the Réseau d’évaluation de l’innovation en santé (RÉIS).
Thanks to a $1 million government contribution, spread over two years, RÉIS will be able to continue facilitating collaboration between medical technology and health AI companies and institutions within the health and social services network. The goal: to accelerate the development and evaluation of innovative solutions in real-world conditions and facilitate their commercialization in order to respond ever more effectively to the health needs of the Quebec population.
Since its launch in 2021, RÉIS, supported by MEDTEQ+, has carried out several key initiatives, including the implementation of a process to facilitate contact between technology entrepreneurs and the network, and the creation of shared management tools. It has also enabled the completion of more than thirty collaborative projects for the evaluation and co-development of health technologies with the network’s six member institutions.
Quotes:
“By focusing on collaboration between businesses and the public sector, we enable Quebec to innovate and stand out in strategic sectors, such as the life sciences. Our government is proud to renew its confidence in RÉIS, which plays an essential role in the development and commercialization of technological innovations as well as in the growth of SMEs in the health sector.”

“This financial support propels MEDTEQ+’s support for the six RÉIS institutions and accelerates our companies’ access to real-world testing environments. For Quebec innovators, linking evidence generation to clinical, economic, and operational evaluations of their products is not just a step: it is the true driver of value creation.
