ANNIE-KIM GILBERT APPOINTED PRESIDENT AND CEO OF MEDTEQ+

Montreal, June 22, 2023The MEDTEQ+ Consortium is pleased to announce the appointment of Annie-Kim Gilbert as its new president and chief executive officer. Having held key positions in the public and private healthcare sectors for more than twenty years, Annie-Kim Gilbert will continue MEDTEQ+‘s collaborative mission, in addition to increasing its dynamism in the healthcare technology sector. She will take on her new position on August 28, 2023.

There is no doubt that Annie-Kim has all the necessary skills to pursue MEDTEQ+‘s mission and go even further in our support for the development of innovation in healthcare,” says François Bastien, Chairman of MEDTEQ+‘s Board of Directors. 

An Impressive Career Path and In-depth Knowledge of the Field 

Annie-Kim Gilbert holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from McGill University, and postdoctoral training in neuroscience from Université de Sherbrooke and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the United States. For over nine years, she worked as a researcher and manager for research and development programs at the multinational pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, rising through the ranks until the closure of the company’s Montreal site in 2012. She then joined the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal research centre, where she worked for three years as deputy scientific director and manager of an Alzheimer’s disease research consortium. In 2016, she officially joined CIUSSS du Centre-Sud-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, where she continues to serve as Director of University Teaching and Research. In addition to her duties as Director, Annie-Kim acts as Chair of the Teaching Committee of the Université de Montréal’s Réseau universitaire intégré en santé et services sociaux (RUISSS).

This appointment, ratified unanimously by the MEDTEQ+ Board of Directors, follows a lengthy recruitment process in which over 40 candidates participated, and for which an external firm was commissioned. Mrs. Gilbert will succeed Diane Côté, who has announced her retirement after more than 12 years as head of the organization and 25 years in the life sciences sector.
